Bella Brodie reports

A brand-new holiday home manufacturer has announced that they are open for business.  The team behind the Sunseeker Holiday Home brand has also revealed their plans for the future, which include launching their range fully to the public and trade at the Cottingham Parks Lodge Caravan Show in September, followed by the Holiday Caravan & Park Homes Show at Beaulieu.

The shows will be Sunseeker Holiday Homes’ official launch, although they quietly opened for business in the second week of June and have received a positive reaction from the industry already, with a solid number of orders placed in that first week alone and many more in week two.

Based in Hull, Sunseeker Holiday Homes is a name many in the industry a long time will recognise, as one of the earlier holiday home brand leaders. Sunseeker Holiday Homes then moved into the park home world, eventually rebranding as Homeseeker.

Homeseeker is now part of the well-respected Prestige Homeseeker Park & Leisure Homes brand, so in a move which has taken the Sunseeker Holiday Homes brand full circle, two of  Prestige Homeseeker’s founder directors, Silvano Geranio and Eric Jones, have now also become founder directors of Sunseeker Holiday Homes, working behind the scenes to bring the much-loved brand straight back into the heart of holiday home market.

Taking a front-facing perspective in the business are Dennis Ashton as Managing Director, overseeing operations, manufacturing and customer service and Vanessa Marshall supporting closely as director of customer services.  Both are previously from Atlas Leisure Homes, where Dennis was a former director, and he has 25 solid years of experience in holiday home manufacturing.

A warm welcome at Sunseeker Holiday Homes – Vanessa Marshall and Darren Langston

Directors Darren Langston and Richard Moore will be directly working out in the field supporting customers and taking business development roles.   Darren joins Sunseeker Holiday Homes from Pathfinder Homes, and prior to that worked for holiday home companies such as ABI, Atlas and Swift from 1994 to 2017, so has extensive experience in the holiday home market.  Richard joins the company from Lissett Homes, and prior to that worked with Normandy Holiday Homes and Atlas.   Edd Liversidge is another key appointment making Sunseeker Holiday Homes ones to watch already from a design perspective, fresh from Pemberton Park and Leisure Homes.

Brand values are expected to be synonymous with the existing solid reputation of all those involved. Quality, innovation and service will all be at the heart of the business, and this could be a brand likely to have the knowledge and understanding of the industry to fast-establish their own signature feel while also pushing the industry forward to gradually change the look of holiday homes in the future.

Clues to styling? A sneak peak of what’s to come!

The holiday home range will be unveiled in September when several units will be on display and accessible to the consumer market, but meanwhile park buyers can get ahead by speaking to either Darren or Richard to explore models already preparing for production, including the Twilight, Spirit, Supreme and the launch of a 40 x 20 twin-unit lodge to be named Sensation.

With a solid number of orders already on the system, 500 units are expected to be built in year one at the Valletta Street manufacturing base, and a second manufacturing facility looks likely within the second year.

There are exciting developments afoot behind the scenes at the Valetta Street headquarters in Hull

With such trusted names and impressive talent on board, it’s clear that this could be a name set for speedy growth, so although their plans may seem ambitious to some, the team’s track record of growing successful businesses while building on existing solid foundations in the sector will undoubtedly make Sunseeker Holiday Homes  a force to be reckoned with.

Director General of the British Holiday & Home Parks Association, Ros Pritchard OBE said, “Sunseeker is certainly a name which would conjure up memories of happy UK holidays for many.  Increasing the choice of holiday caravans is always a good thing, so we wish the team every success.”

Retired Park Home & Holiday Caravan editor Anne Webb, who would have reported on the original homes commented; “I think it was a brilliant name and so glad it is going to be resurrected. It immediately shouts ‘holiday’. When I joined the magazine in 1973 the company was already well established and had a reputation for good quality ‘middle-of-the-road’ models. Their Horizon is a model I remember – it came out in a twin version in Sunseeker’s later years. With Silvano at the helm, I’m sure the brand will succeed – he’s proved from the day he set up Prestige that hard and dedicated work, good market research, attention to detail, solid construction and stylish interiors are a winning formula.’’

Silvano Geranio said; ‘’Quality, innovation and service will be our watchwords, but as with all homes any of us work on, they will be about the experience they offer the holidaymaker, whichever end of the budget spectrum they sit in. Our aim is that every home should stand out and feel special to its eventual owner, while also representing a good business proposition for the park buyer. We’ve been really pleased with the early feedback from the trade, and are very excited about the future for Sunseeker Holiday Homes. It’s already off to a great start.’’

Sunseeker Holiday Homes’ official launch will take place at the Cottingham Parks Lodge and Caravan Show near Hull on Tuesday 3rd September to the trade, followed by the public launch on Saturday September 7th and Sunday 8th  There will be further launches at the Southern Caravan Trade show on 26th September and to the public at the Holiday Home Expo on 27th September, both at Beaulieu, Hampshire.
