We take a tour of Retreat Homes’s Strawberryfield holiday lodge, which is destined for the Strawberryfield Park in Cheddar, Somerset.
Strawberryfield Park is a development of eco-lodges. Each lodge is for sale either either as a holiday retreat or as an investment. Due to their high quality these lodges stand out particularly for buyers looking both criteria.
Retreat’s lodges are competitively priced, with superior furnishings on offer too. This manufacturer works hard to source interesting items to finish their homes in real style.
With the Strawberryfield you feel the difference
The Strawberryfield is a little unusual as a one-bedroomed lodge with open-plan bedroom, and it works brilliantly!
With its cedar cladding, sedum roof, and integral decking area, the Strawberryfield is easily identifiable as a Retreat Homes lodge. In many of the rooms you don’t simply see the difference, you feel it.
We loved the retro feel and the detail in the finish throughout. Sometimes this was so subtle that we almost had to look for it. The décor throughout the lodge definitely lends itself to rest and relaxation.
Underfloor heating and up-lighting keeps the Strawberryfield feeling wonderfully cosy, yet the layout makes it feel really special too.
The bedroom feels almost oriental. The bed construction is unusual, with a high-end architectural feel. Clothing is tucked away neatly in a walk-in wardrobe and dressing room.
In the bathroom ‘His and hers’ heated towel rails accompany a large double walk-in shower and a huge bath. The room is so spacious that you could pull up an armchair and chat to your partner whilst they bathe.
The bathroom leads conveniently out onto an inner deck. This could be used as a simple seating area or hot-tub corner, perfectly positioned for showering and drying off.
An open plan kitchen/diner and lounge instantly delivers that quality feel, with a retro theme giving it a wonderful edge. It’s well equipped, with an extending table and chairs catering easily for unexpected guests. We didn’t appreciate the unusual construction of the panel behind the TV plinth until we looked closer and touched it!
The kitchen work surfaces are of solid, continuous construction, and there is a clever extended seating space. Lighting elements and sockets are cleverly concealed to ensure clean lines and a wonderful ambience.
With the inner deck offering an extra room to relax in, this model lends itself to using all the spaces equally time-wise, generating great value from your investment.
