If you love the idea of summer festivals, but find the mud, rain, queues, and crowds a turn off, then Dimpsey Glamping in Somerset can give you the best of everything.
Dimpsey Glamping is a unique 5* luxury retreat, described as “an all-in experience helping busy people to get some quality time together”.
The company is based on Emma and Andrew Warren’s small farm on the Blackdown Hills in Somerset, shared with Dexter cows, Jacob and Zwartble sheep, a few chickens and a goose called George.
Extra-special touches for glamping breaks
Through Dimpsey you can enjoy your own private festival at the 5* shepherd’s hut glamping retreat near the foot of the Blackdown Hills. Emma Warren says: ‘Dimpsey is getting her festival vibe on with unique little touches to make things extra special for glamping break guests over the summer.
We’ve gone for interior festival design, with luxury cushions, throw and curtains from the lovely local ladies at Winser and Hill curtains. These are bespoke designs incorporating vintage fabrics.
‘From listening to your own tunes, having some hot tub time, eating amazing local food, to relaxing around the fire pit whilst stargazing at the stunning Blackdown Hills skies and toasting marshmallows, we’ve got it all sorted. And the little things make all the difference with a glamping experience.
There’ll be no getting cold whilst stargazing, since you’ll have your very own festival blanket, handmade by Caroline Le Brun from shirt scraps and incorporating secret pockets for your phone and valuables.’
Create your own mini-festival and food feast!
Emma has been keen to create an intimate festival feeling where people can create their own perfect vibe both inside and outside the shepherd’s hut. She says: ‘No festival would be complete without outdoor cooked food and we’ve got that covered with an outdoor oven from the Garden Oven Company.
Think slow cooked beef from the farm, chargrilled vegetables, pizza; the list of culinary delights goes on. Or to perfect luxury glamping we can deliver you a recipe basket of ingredients and you can try new recipes out at in the hut. I’ll also be providing a festival picnic hamper for those who want to take it easy.’
Dimpsey’s luxury glamping also boasts a wood-fired Hikki hot-tub for a post-festival relaxation. Emma says: ‘This is the ultimate luxury glamping festival accessory this summer and you’ll have your very own at the Dimpsey Shepherd’s Hut.’
Get into the groove
Dimpsey’s festival of music comes courtesy of a portable Crosley record player and some vinyl. Emma explains: ‘We want people to feel comfortable getting their groove on at Dimpsey, inside or outside the hut. People can bring their own records to play their favourite tunes, or they can find us on Spotify at Dimpsey_Glamping and listen to our playlists.
Reconnect with each other
Emma says: ‘The idea of the glamping experience is to chill out and reconnect with each other, and we have geared everything around making that happen – so from relaxing music to snuggly beds, hearing the owls hoot at night and watching the animals during the day, we’ve totally got chill out covered.
‘People come away from their stay saying they feel rejuvenated, relaxed and reconnected. That’s our aim – to give people the chance to rediscover the purpose in their relationships and to rediscover themselves in natural, luxurious surroundings.
I wanted to create something for people who want to stay away from the crowds, but still have a festival feeling, and who want to truly experience glamping at its very best in Somerset.’
What to expect
